Travel & Egypt Tips
A day trip to Luxor from Hurghada costs between €65 and €120 per person, depending on the tour type (group or private). The price includes transfer, English-speaking guide, entrance fees for Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple and Colossi of Memnon, plus lunch. Private tours offer flexible schedules and personal attention.
Yes, in Hurghada you can experience dolphins in the wild. Boat trips to Dolphin House (Sha'ab El Erg) offer the chance to snorkel with dolphins. Tours depart in the morning from €25 per person. Important: These are wild dolphins – sightings are very likely but not guaranteed. We ensure respectful interaction with the animals.
The best time to visit Hurghada is October to April with pleasant 25-30°C. Summer (June-August) can exceed 40°C. Snorkeling and diving are ideal year-round as water temperature stays between 22°C and 28°C. For desert trips, we recommend November to March.
Yes, tourist areas in Egypt, especially Hurghada, are safe for travelers. The Egyptian tourism police ensure safety in all tourist areas. Hurghada has an excellent safety record. As everywhere, we recommend keeping an eye on personal valuables and respecting local customs.
Yes, most nationalities need a visa for Egypt. You can get a visa on arrival at the airport for about $25 USD, or apply for an e-visa online beforehand. The tourist visa is valid for 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel date.
In Egypt, tipping (Baksheesh) is customary and part of the culture. Guidelines: tour guide €5-10 per day, driver €3-5 per day, restaurant service 10-15% of the bill, hotel porter €1-2. In simple cafes, 5-10 LE (Egyptian pounds) is appropriate. Tipping is voluntary but greatly appreciated.
