Medical Instruments in Ancient Egypt
On the enclosure wall behind the six rooms, a famous temple scene is depicted: King Marcus Aurelius kneels and offers a sacrificial table with surgical and medical instruments (tweezers, scalpels, bandages, and healing amulets) to Imhotep, the god of medicine.
Imhotep was the architect of the Step Pyramid of King Djoser from the 3rd Dynasty. After his death, Imhotep was revered as the god of medicine due to his talents.
